Back to Garden Day 22-23

September 30th -3rd grade

10/3/2022 8:30 pm

In September students are focusing on learning about our fall crops and the parts of the plant that we eat.  Ask your third graders  about the roots, stems, flowers and leaves that we eat!

While in the garden today students learned about the parts of the plants that they eat and looked at examples of several. They ventured out into the gardens to see what sprouts we had growing (radishes). They planted several different kinds of seeds - beans, peas, carrots, beets, radish, chard, turnips, kale, spinach, lettuces. They also planted two cauliflower seedlings and two broccoli seedlings. They observed the sunflower sprouts that have started to emerge as well, along with one bluebonnet sprout.
